Our Services
Emergency Relief.
Emergency relief is able to assist people with their immediate crisis situation by providing financial and material assistance such as food parcels, clothing or vouchers.
Community Connect.
Community Connect is a program that aims to provide assistance and support for vulnerable families and individuals in our community, who are trying to deal with multiple or complex issues.
The Community Connect Worker is an experienced worker who is often the first point of contact, and able to refer to more intensive support as required. This early intervention with a wraparound approach can lead to better outcomes and future self-sufficiency for individuals and families.
Tuck Shop.
In 2023, Chinchilla Community Centre started offering tuckshop services to St Joseph’s. This social enterprise is a “for purpose” business, providing a service (tuckshop) to St Joseph’s community and providing employment opportunities. We provide a tuckshop service two days each week at first and second break, and all ordering is done through Spriggy Schools.
Social enterprises are “for purpose” businesses that trade so they can tackle social problems, improve communities, give people access to employment and training, or help the environment. Typically, social enterprise prioritise the employment of disadvantaged jobseekers, and reinvest profits to further community benefit.
Baby Tribe.
The Baby Tribe program is a welcoming and informative initiative held every second Friday at the Community Centre, designed for babies under 12 months of age. Led by a qualified health nurse, this program offers parents and caregivers a chance to come together to discuss all things related to baby care. From feeding and sleep routines to developmental milestones and health, each session provides expert guidance and valuable insights. The program fosters a supportive community environment, helping parents navigate the early stages of parenthood with confidence and connection.
Chinchilla Community Centre is thrilled to invite all children born since 1st January 2025 and living in the 4413 postcode to be a part of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. This means you will receive a free brand new book delivered through the post each month until your 5th birthday! All books are selected especially to help children develop a love of reading. We thank our partners, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and Uniting Way, and our foundation supporter chinchilla RSL for making this possible. To register your baby, please follow the link
